A Beka Book publications are the basis of the curriculum at our Staten Island private school. This is a traditional curriculum of advanced academics that exceeds the requirements set by the New York State Department of Education for elementary and secondary schools.
New Dorp Christian Academy believes in good, solid, proven methods of education. We teach reading by phonics. Math is taught by mastering skills like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. The students start out with basic but strong foundations in academic subjects before moving onto more difficult areas.
Our class sizes are small so children can receive individual attention, helping them to achieve their potential.
Computer literacy is very important for all children if they are to succeed in this century. That is why we offer a computer program at the Academy. It is a program specifically designed to teach computer literacy and is taught on a weekly basis to our students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade.
Here at our Staten Island private school, we offer a music and drama program to our students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade. We believe that this fosters a positive learning experience for our students.
Nursery School – Our nursery school program is a wonderful start for your child’s educational success. They will have fun participating in the different activities while improving social skills, but will also prepare for their future in advanced academics by learning everything from colors and shapes to letters and numbers.
We offer a variety of sessions for our nursery school program. We offer half-day morning and full-day programs. The various sessions are offered in 2, 3, 4, or 5-day programs. In addition, we offer a full day kindergarten program.
Half-day sessions for nursery school run from 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM, for mornings, and 9:00 AM – 2:40 PM for full day sessions.
