Why Choose Us

"It Takes A Village":

New Dorp Christian Academy believes educating youth is the foundation for life.  For Christians, education includes training and equipping our youth to integrate their faith into their everyday lives.  Our youth need the ability to think critically, problem-solve and arrive at biblical conclusions about all of life.  This approach to education produces students prepared to defend their faith in a fallen world, be a light to their generation, and actively seek God’s will for their life.

New Dorp Christian Academy’s curriculum, faculty, and staff partner with parents in raising children with a Biblical worldview that will prepare them for excellence personally and academically.

Established in 1974, New Dorp Christian Academy is a fully New York City licensed Christian school serving students from preschool to 8th grade.  It began with the Little Learner’s Nursery School and grew to include a kindergarten program in 1982.  With the success of these programs, the school expanded to include classes up to the 8th grade in 1990.  NDCA is affiliated with New Dorp Baptist Church but is comprised of students from across Staten Island.  Over the years we have earned a reputation for a rigorous academic program that includes the spiritual growth of our students.  We strive to provide a climate that encourages high standards and a positive classroom environment.

Kid's Club / Youth Group

NDCA’s Youth Ministries provide a fun, safe environment for developing friendships and for growing in faith. We affirm the importance of community for emotional and spiritual health.

Quality of Academics

NDCA’s academic curriculum meets or exceeds NYC Department of Education standards. Although academic standards are rigorous, our curriculum is scaffolded to benefit all learners. All students benefit from our standardized K-8 curriculum, which ensures there are no gaps in students’ learning. Each grade systematically builds upon skills and content that were taught the year before. Reading, writing, and math reviews are built into our curriculum so that students have ample opportunities to improve their knowledge base before new content is introduced. Our approach also benefits transfer students who may have had different educational experiences from NDCA students. Our unified curriculum promotes strong skill sets, critical thinking, and responsible use of technology.

We believe that a school should be large enough to meet your needs, yet small enough to care for you and your child.
